The small town of Saint-Didier has retained a certain charm, a little old-fashioned. Having developed around a castle built from the 10th to the 13th century, it was the stronghold of the Saint-Didier family. This family included famous troubadours and knights of the Hospitaller Order. While strolling through the old streets, do not forget to pass under the vaulted door of the Toune. This leads to the large square where some 16th century houses remain, such as the Hôtel La Fayette where Alloues, the discoverer of the great American lakes, was born. A few more steps and you will see the old church, which has been remodelled many times over the centuries and has curious capitals.
