The Kalidonia waterfall, the most important waterfall on the island (12 m high), is reached by a well-marked path. While the jump of the Kryos River does not evoke Niagara Falls, it is a pleasant place to be. 2 km north of the waterfall, near the Troodos, is the summer residence of the President of the Republic of Cyprus, built at the end of the 19th century to welcome British dignitaries.
