Saint-André de Chalencon is a municipality composed of 14 hamlets. The village, granite houses or black volcanic stones, is tightened around its church with a th century steeple. The main tourist attraction of the municipality is the village of Chalencon. You need to go to Chalencon because the road that leads there is no end! But this village is worth a visit because it offers a magnificent and moving landscape on a place steeped in history. In fact, situated in the heart of a green area, it is dominated by its castle perched on a rocky outcrop. On the lower side of the village is the beautiful bridge of the devil who crosses the rendezvous. In the heart of the village, a beautiful chapel can be visited. It was sold to residents more than 200 years ago. This medieval village was once a forced passage between Velay and Forez.
