At 850 m altitude, near Chamalieres-sur-Loire, Roche-en-Régnier is a small Medium Mountain village whose peak is Mount Miaune. It was the seat of one of the oldest seigneuries in the region, mentioned in the texts from the th century. It was then one of the eighteen baronnies of Velay, which gave the right to his owner to participate in the government of the land. Today you can admire the remains of the fortified castle and village and the circular dungeon which dominates the gorges of the Loire and served in the watch and defence. There is also a large porch dating back to the th century. The village offers a beautiful view of the Yssingelais juices and Mount Mezenc, it has an orientation table (next to the dungeon) from which you can make many walks.
