Located on the seafront, Bar Bocce is a weekend must for San Franciscans out and about in the north. The Italian-influenced menu is mainly made up of delicious pizzas with thin, crispy dough, but the starters are also worth a detour. Try the calamari a la plancha or the oven-roasted shishito peppers. This is the ideal place to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city and enjoy a relaxing getaway. A pétanque court is also available.

My husband and I are visiting from New Mexico and decided to wing it and stop at Bar Bocce. WOW the food is so delicious!!! We really loved our meal and are completely stuffed. The service was okay. However, we felt unwelcomed and judged. We felt eyes on us and were overall really uncomfortable the majority of the meal. The hostest seemed really kind. Although when we arrived no one was there for a good while and then finally sat us. But once we got there they made sure someone watched us the entire time and was by the entrance. I'm not sure if it's because they thought we would skip out on the bill.... Life style in New Mexico is definitely different! More down to earth. I wish the ambience matched the food! Overall, we would highly recommend the food. Just dress nicely or be more posh I guess or you'll be watched like a hawk the whole meal.

Food is great! A good selection of pizza combinations (eg the chicken pesto pizza is wonderful), salads and entrees are very tasty too. They have different versions of sangria which is always fun.
