Building topped by a clock of almost 69 m becoming a market recognized on the local and international food scene
Built in 1898, the Ferry Building is still a terminal for ferries crossing the bay to the east and north. The building, built by the American architect A. Page Brown, is topped by a clock of nearly 69 meters, largely inspired by the old minaret of the Giralda in Seville. The body of the building, 201 meters long, is reminiscent of the large arcaded naves of 19th century European passages. After being abandoned by passengers, the building became a market recognized on the local and international food scene in 2003.
