SAN FRANCISCO INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT
Petit Futé's opinion on SAN FRANCISCO INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT
Seventh United States airport and twenty-first world. It is located approximately 25 km south of the city on Highway 101. In the airport, the red line of the Airtrain (free monorail) serves all terminals, car parks and BART station, and the blue line, the Rental Car Center (for car rentals).
Several means of transport are at your disposal at San Francisco airport to reach the city center, with a great preference for BART (the equivalent of our Paris RER with floor carpeting please!)
The BART. It connects the airport to the city center in about thirty minutes. It will cost you about 9 USD to go to the center (Powell Street).
The taxi. The race price fluctuates around US $ 50.
The shuttles. These are minibuses that operate like collective taxis. They are available immediately in front of the airport exit. Beware, they have few stops. There are also supershuttles that can drop you at your address, but of course it is more expensive, about US $ 20!
The bus. Use Samtrans Company. USD 5.50 per ticket to downtown (Transbay Terminal).
