The Kepler Track is one of the 11 Great Walks in the country and passes through beautiful scenery. It starts from the Control Gates of Lake Te Anau (2 kilometers from the city) and climbs to Luxmore Hut, at 1 085 m. It is imperative to reserve the huts or the campground in advance during the high season. The route follows a beautiful loop and offers wonderful views of the mountains and the entire region. In addition, you have a great chance of seeing keas! An alternative is the return trip to Luxmore Hut (13 km, 8 hours).
