WEST COAST WILD LIFE CENTRE

Opened in 2010 with the support of DOC, this center is a nursery for kiwis. The eggs are incubated until they hatch and the babies are raised until they can be released. The visit is very complete because you will also meet the tuatara : the endemic lizard of New Zealand. But that's not all! You will learn more about the secrets of glaciers and their dangerous crevasses. The center also has a café and a store.
