Established in 1987, Paparoa National Park is most famous for the Pancakes Rocks and the Dolomite Point Blowhole near the small village of Punakaiki. Located on the north coast of the South Island, the park is situated along State Highway 6, between the towns of Westport, 55 km north of Punakaiki and 43 km south of Greymouth. This National Park is famous for its walks through lush coastal forest, limestone cliffs, canyons, caves and underground streams, and of course the absolutely spectacular coastline.
