While one climbs Mount John (Ōtehīwai) for its stunning views of Lake Tekapo, one also comes for this excellent, quaint cafe. With its unusual location and magical view, it's a must-see place to grab a bite to eat on a nice day. You can enjoy good food, snacks and cakes. The coffees are prepared by baristas. You can walk along the panoramic walk around the summit, count 30 minutes.

Access: By car, it costs $8. By foot, 8.9 km round trip Ōtehīwai Mount John Summit Circuit.

Plusieurs choix pour y accéder, soit via la route (avec un "péage" pour quelques dollars), ou une petite promenade 1h30 aller-retour qui vaut le coup. La vue en haut du Mont John est magnifique, et les gâteaux proposé sont bien bon.
