Tūrangi is a small town with a population of 3,800 and owes its development to the construction of the Tongariro Power Plant in the 1970s Located south of Lake Taupō and north of the Tongariro National Park, it is a great place to stay for a quiet stay in the area. We are 10 minutes from the shores of the lake, and 30 minutes from the center of the park. You can therefore plan excursions on the water or through the trails of the national park. The city itself is famous for trout fishing. It is also the self-proclaimed Trout fishing capital of the world, in all modesty.
