After a childhood steeped in the cooking of his father Hōchinrō, who had been a chef since 1978 at the foot of Mount Fuji, Nobuyuki Yamaguchi (nicknamed Yuki) took up the torch in 2007 and opened Ramen Takara in Ponsonby. He brought together Japanese know-how and Kiwi hospitality to create this charming Ponsonby restaurant that everyone loves. Based on his success, he opened another restaurant in Browns Bay, north of Auckland.
