For those who have time, a detour to Lake Kabo, close to the plantation and surrounded by a thick forest, can be a pleasant stopover.
To reach it, take the road to Goré and turn left after about 8 km. After 25 km of track, a barrier marks the entrance to the plantation. The lake is close by, at the end of a path that goes to the right.
Further on, the track goes deep into the plantation, territory of the Majenger tribe, an ethnic group of the Nilo-Saharan family. Living as itinerant farmers in the vast forests of the region, the Majenger also engage in hunting, fishing, gathering and beekeeping, but not in animal husbandry. A bus (10 birrs) connects Tépi to the entrance of the plantation.
