Some 35 km before Arba Minch, a track climbs right up the mountain towards Mount Gughe and leads through dense coniferous forest to the village of Dorzé, then 8 km later to Chencha, at 3,000 m altitude. On the way up, you enter a fascinating humid and misty environment. The Chencha market is held every Tuesday and Saturday. On these days, you can enjoy an excellent mead at the Ted Betou High School in the main square. The atmosphere is friendly and truly exotic. Nearby Chencha, the 30 m-high Toro waterfalls can be reached in half an hour's walk from the village.
