Located in Assaïta, it is the former residence of the sultans who ruled the region until the time of the Derg.
Until the time of the Derg, the sultans exercised their authority over the region. It was under the imposing tree in front of the house that the mablo was held, an assembly during which justice was dispensed. Ali Mirah Hanfare, the penultimate sultan of the name, divided his time between Addis Ababa and the Persian Gulf countries until his death in 2011. His son Hanfaré Ali Mirah was enthroned on his death, perpetuating the Mudaito dynasty ruling the sultanate.
