The office provides some brochures, if the stock is not exhausted, offers excursions outside the city and can put you in touch with official guides of Gondar Guide Associations (avoid fake non-accredited guides who will not teach you anything). If you don't have time to spend there, these same guides are located directly at the entrance of the fortifications that house all the castles in the city centre (but check their professional badge). They are well trained, useful because there is no explanation on the sites, and the half-day price also includes the Fasilidas baths, the Kouskouam complex and the Dabra Birham Selassie church. The office can also negotiate the tuk-tuk to visit the three sites, it will get a better price than if you do it alone!
