Park with pool ideal for exercise, golf course, zoo, tennis and soccer fields
The park was originally the Foucher Plantation which was purchased by the city in 1871 and became Upper City Park. In 1886, the park was renamed Audubon Park after the famous Haitian naturalist and ornithologist John James Audubon who lived in New Orleans in the 1820s. Today the park includes a golf course, a zoo, tennis and soccer fields, a swimming pool and more. If you're in town for a long time, this is the perfect park to get some exercise, read or daydream in the shade of the many trees.
