After Quattropani, the road reaches the centre of the island and the high plateau on which Piano Conte is perched, a charming little village of white houses, surrounded by vineyards and which seems to live as it did 50 years ago. From here you can go down to the thermal baths of San Calogero where sulphate and bicarbonate waters gush out at 60°C. Before returning to Lipari, a stop at the Quattrocchi lookout is a must, even if you are the 200,000th tourist to stop there and it makes you a little nervous. You can admire in the distance the Faraglioni, Vulcano, and sometimes even the two little sisters, Filicudi and Alicudi (but only if you are a lucky tourist)
