It's always surprising that towns of modest size (about 10,000 inhabitants) can be so rich! Randazzo, situated 754 m above sea level below Etna, is of Byzantine origin. It has always been spared eruptions, a true miracle! It is therefore one of the only cities to have preserved its medieval appearance. Don't miss its Norman Cathedral of Santa Maria and the churches of San Martino and San Niccolò, some palazzi (Lanza, Lo Presti Panassidi), the Vagliasindi Archaeological Museum, which takes you on a walk through its rich past, and the Ethnographic Museum of Peasant Civilization.
