Situated to the west, on the Gévaudan and Margeride mountains, and to the south, on the foothills of the Velay, Langeac is a commune of 3 754 inhabitants. Rising to an altitude of 504 m, it is part of the Communauté de Communes des Rives du Haut-Allier, and the canton of Gorges de l'Allier-Gévaudan. It is in this small city of character, with its pretty ochre facades, that you can book your ticket for the train of the Gorges de l'Allier which will take you to Langogne (a commune located in the neighbouring department of Lozère). The journey, with commentary, lasts 1h45, and will take you through memorable landscapes, shaped by water and volcanoes
