Located 30 km (and 30 minutes) from Sciacca by the SS115 road along the coast, this archaeological site presents a remarkable testimony of the Greek occupation of Sicily. The town dates back to at least the 6th century BC and was founded, according to Diodoro Siculo, by Minos and his companions who accompanied Daedalus to Camico. For Herodotus, the city was founded by settlers from Selinunte. The ruins are well valorized on the site and are really worth a little detour. The nearby beach is ideal for swimming, with golden sand and clear waters. A good reason to combine a cultural visit with a moment of idleness.
