A few kilometres from Segesta, along the cold river basin, stands on a hill between the reliefs of Mount San Vito and the medieval castle, this ancient Arabian town (Kalat al-Fimi), known mainly for the historic battle between Bourbons and Garibaldi in 1860. Two churches, the Madonna del Guibino and the church of the Holy Crucifix, deserve a little look. This city may be a base for a visit to Segesta, but it is essential to be transported (access by SS 113).
