MERCATO CAPO

Market
4.3/5
3 reviews

This market starts via Sant'Agostini with stalls of cheap clothes (from Asia), continues via Cappuccinelle with fabrics and products for the home, and ends at Porta Carini with stalls of fruit, vegetables, cheese, meat and fresh food products. It is cheaper than the very authentic Vucciria. It is the ideal place to taste the famous arancini, potato fritters, chickpeas, and other local or... Asian specialties in front of small dedicated stands.

Junk is also present in the little alleys around Piazza Carraciolo. High in colour, noise and smell, it closes its doors at nightfall.

Let yourself be guided by the voices of the fish sellers at the Ballaro market to discover the scents and colours. It's hardly exaggerated if you consider the trunk of the Palermitans who are lustful in these popular little streets. Half tourist, half local, this market is surprising. It is here that you will find the best pistachios, dried tomatoes, olives, the tastiest cheeses of the island... To pick up on the spot: octopus, rolls with sardines. You will also see a variety of local zucchini that is up to 1 meter long!
