SAMBIYA RIVER LODGE
Read moreLocated 400 meters from the Masindi-Paraa trail, this recently renovated lodge is situated in an undergrowth area on the banks of the eponymous river. Its location is quite convenient for those who want to look for chimpanzees in the Budongo forest or go up to the Murchison Falls. The place will appeal to those who seek peace and contact with nature; wild animals roam the area, especially around the waterhole that faces the restaurant. The nicely decorated cottages are divided into two rooms. A swimming pool completes the package!
RED CHILLI REST CAMP
Read moreA friendly camp for small budgets that welcomes a lot of overland trucks and groups. The small and clean bandas with two single beds are very good value for money. For camping, you pitch your tent wherever you want on the central terrain without any extra equipment. The common sanitary facilities (sometimes) leave a little to be desired. Nice restaurant. The Red Chilli is located on the left bank of the Nile, 600 m from the pier. A special hire (including the entrance of the driver in the park) can be organized from Masindi: count 200 000 Ush.
MURCHISON RIVER LODGE
Read moreThis lodge has a large hut that serves as a bar-restaurant, a swimming pool around which wifi is available and cosy tents and cottages. The latter, well equipped (shower, WC, safe...), have a beautiful terrace where a hammock is hanging. The Nile and its hippopotamuses, some of which invite themselves on the site in the brown, are in the immediate vicinity. As the establishment is often full, it is preferable to book in advance. The Murchison River is located 4 km southwest of Paraa, on the left bank of the river.
TWIGA SAFARI LODGE
Read moreLocated some 5 km from Paraa, on the left bank of the Nile, the Twiga (the giraffe, in Swahili) opened in 2017. The ten safari tents, erected on platforms and protected by thatched roofs, are very comfortable. They have a terrace where you can admire the riverside papaya and the waltz of hippos. The bar-restaurant is located under a large straw hut and is flanked by a swimming pool. The bar-restaurant allows you to observe the opposite bank of the Nile where elephants regularly come to drink during the dry season. Charming welcome.
