Located 30 km south of Guardalavaca, the town of Banes founded in 1887, also known as Baní of its indigenous name, can be the subject of a fast getaway or several nights if the hotels of Guardalavaca do not suit you. Some interesting sites deserve a glance, like the museum of the Indian civilization Indocubano Baní. The area also concentrates much of the archaeological excavations carried out in Holguín province. For the little story, Fulgencio Batista (1901-1973) was born there and his sworn enemy, Fidel Castro, married in 1948. Little animation in the evening.
