Close to the Gádor mountain range, on the other side of the valley, Laujar is located at the foot of the Sierra Nevada. This village was chosen as a stopover by Boabdil, the last king of Granada, shortly before his exile. In the 16th century, the leader of the great Moorish rebellion, Aben Humeya, set up his headquarters there, before being murdered by one of his men. Today it is the capital of the Alpujarra almeriense. We will visit its Church of the Incarnation, known as the Cathedral of La Alpujarra, due to its beautiful dimensions and which mixes Mudejar and Baroque styles. In the Andarax valley, vines are cultivated which produce a delicate little wine
