Just 8 km from the coast and at an altitude of 428 m, this small pine-lined village turned residential town remains a good option for getting away from the hustle and bustle of the coast. In the 17th and 18th centuries, the surrounding hills were mined for marble and jasper. Today, it's a little overrun by holidaymakers, and while it lacks the charm of other pueblos blancos, you can come and admire the impressive panoramic views of the coast from the lookout points, remnants of the old village wall. Or linger at the 17th-century Virgen de la Peña hermitage.
