This village of 710 souls is located at 875 m above sea level and stretches over a long green granite plateau. You can access it via the four-lane (direction Saint-Etienne) or by borrowing the road from the Loire Valley. This route is much better. A winding winding road will take you through the genêts from the village of Perdeyre. It's narrow, but the look is beautiful. A few decades ago, this commune was still known as Saint Quentin-Chaspinhac, because under the Old regime, this territory was divided into two parishes, Saint-Quentin and Chaspinhac. The lords of Saint-Quentin were powerful, but of this prestigious past, there remains only the remains of a ruined village, which we visit with pleasure. At the entrance to the village you can admire the th century Screen cross. In the centre of the village, a small Romanesque church of the th century awaits you, the church Saint-Julien. The two side chapels were added later and occupy the usual place of the transepts. Finally, Barns square, with its fountain and its typical oven, will offer you a good overview of a typical village of Haute-Loire. At the Mont Serre summit, the landscape reading table and magnificent panorama on the Puy-en-Velay basin and the surrounding volcanoes.
