It's impossible to miss the bright yellow and red of this Italian restaurant on the main road, facing the salt flats. A few tables almost on the sidewalk, a handful of others in the dining room, and the rest in the open air in a pretty interior patio. It is the Frenchman Eric who runs the place, and we don't skimp on quality: organic arugula, cold cuts imported from the Botte region, raw cheeses... Pasta and ravioli are fresh and homemade, the salads are generous and the artisanal pizzas are cooked in a state-of-the-art wood-fired oven. Yummy!

It's THE traditional French bakery and patisserie in Mauritius, also present in Grand Baie and Port Louis, which respects the artisanal baking tradition of natural leavening for baguettes and special breads (tourte de seigle, boule aux céréales bio...) just like at home! What's more, only extra-dry Normandy butter is used for the viennoiseries, which have the crispiness of the good stuff! In the pastry department, everything is delicious! There's also a savoury section and a choice of drinks to enjoy on the premises (coffee) or to take away.

Well-known to the small world of night owls and very popular at weekends, this large pub-resto-nightclub is not only a festive place crowded on the evenings of sporting events. It is also a friendly restaurant where you can sit indoors in an ethnic-inspired setting or, better still, on the terrace in the garden, next to the long bar and the children's playground. If meat is one of the specialities of the table, the varied menu wanders between several regions. There is a choice of snacks and tapas if you are more in the mood to drink and feast.

In addition to offering a privileged view of the ^18th hole, the Tamarina golf restaurant has the particularity of standing over a ravine with its exuberant tropical vegetation and the gentle song of the river flowing in its bed. We are in the green, drowned in the nature, the mountain of the Rampart set up like a protection, in a warm frame which is not without evoking an African lodge. The menu is a mix of dishes from here and elsewhere (salads, burgers, pasta...), without forgetting the Mauritian touch. At the end of the day, it is pleasant to have a drink.

On the edge of the main road, the front of the Bedford truck sets the tone for a convivial decorative style: salvaged wood furniture in the courtyard and a subtle marriage of rustic and contemporary touches in the dining room. Food and wine pairings are the common thread running through this attractive resto-bar, extended by a wine shop where you can choose your bottle directly from over 250 references, or opt for a wine by the glass (fine selection). The menu offers a choice of tapas and plates to share, and tasty dishes prepared under the guidance of Michelin-starred chef Jerry Bastiaan.

Nestled on the banks of the Tamarin River, hence the name, with tables scattered under magisterial trees or under a lodge-style canvas, is the third Poivrier, a restaurant already present in Grand Baie in the north (Le Jardin) and in Azuri on the east coast (La Plage). Here you'll find all the ingredients that have made the Poivrier brand such a success: a site, a professional team led by Olivier and Warren, fresh produce and quality bistro dishes inspired by French and Italian cuisine. In the evening, the amber lights create a magical atmosphere! Reservations recommended.

Tamarin beach, especially the sandbox just in front of the Veranda Hotel at the car park at the entrance to the bay, is home to one of the best dumpling vendors on the island. As always, the length of the tail acts as a cursor. At the same time, it underlines the taste quality of this Asian street food dish at an unbeatable price. Even if you're there, you'll be tempted by several flavours: meat, fish, vegetables, chicken... whether or not to be accompanied by mines or fried rice. A delight!

This charming organic grocery store also serves as a café and offers a few tables in a cozy setting. Everything here celebrates healthy, balanced and tasty food, based on quality products, sourced and fresh whenever possible. A choice of coffees made with filtered spring water and organic beans from Africa, hot chocolates with oat milk, a selection of detox drinks, boosters, matcha, smoothies made with berries, fruit, seeds and collagen, energy balls and bars... all gluten-free. A typical bistro setting for this convivial table, with an exclusive wine cellar where you can choose the bottle best suited to venison fillet, pork palm or lobster carryout. In the dining room, vintage posters on the walls create a warm, retro-chic atmosphere; outside, a large terrace offers tables in the shade, bordered by two fully-equipped pétanque courts for boisterous games with friends and/or a playful aperitif followed by a fine gustatory experience discovering the culinary flavors of the island.
