A chic bistro-style table with rough wooden furniture, a wine and tapas counter, a pretty terrace overlooking a square with a gurgling fountain. Charming and cheerful atmosphere like a table of girlfriends at lunchtime, romantic and cosy in the evening. Beautiful plates and choice of dishes on the slate according to the products of the moment and the inspiration of the French Chef Sophie who likes to draw from her travels the flavours she wishes to work on. Also a permanent menu of salads, pastas, pizzas, vegetarian dishes, desserts and some well sourced wines.

It has long been one of the best Italian restaurants in the North of France. Renovated in 2023, the setting is contemporary and chic, while remaining friendly, and opens onto two terraces. The strong point remains the quality of the products: fresh pasta and ravioli by an Italian chef, meat from Australia, fish directly from the lagoon (since the company has its own deep-sea fishing boat), truffle dishes...

Before or after: Belle Vita, the new bar that makes evenings sparkle (dance floor on weekends and some evenings). A fine selection of cocktails.

An eternal favorite for this fresh table located next to a spa (Le Square Beauté) in a delightful garden. After 25 years on the Côte d'Azur, French chef Gilles has long orchestrated the menu. From Antibes to Grand Baie, the success continues with simple, tasty home-cooking based on fresh daily and market produce: tuna tartare au couteau, prawn risotto, parmesan pasta prepared in the wheel, sushi bar and more.

Quite simply THE place to be: right on the water, in the breeze, feet in the sand, with decks, deckchairs, a lounge area and spaces divided between the seafront and the open-plan dining room. The chromatic range plays on a palette of greige, white and turquoise in total fusion with this sublime bay, to be contemplated while tasting the varied and well-crafted dishes on the menu: tapas, salads, tartars, burgers, risottos, fish... and, since the chef and manager are French: andouillette and foie gras. Open since 1989, Le Capitaine is one of Grand Baie's oldest restaurants, with a consistent quality of service and food. It's also one of the few varangues open directly onto the sea, on the right side of the road, bordering a cove where a few boats slumber. House classics: the Grand Plateau de fruits de mer (large seafood platter ) or fish dishes such as the Filet de babonne rôti and its shellfish emulsion. Choice of meats too. There's also a range of cocktails and cigars to enjoy in lounge mode on a wooden deck.

Held by two chefs from the traditional Indian school, an authentic Indian restaurant serving dishes cooked in tandoor (this terracotta oven heated by charcoal). Several specialities of roasted dishes, such as the murg murg (épices chicken thigh, lemon and yoghurt, cooked in tandoor) and also large classics, to be tasted according to its preference: soft, medium or spicy. The curious and picoreurs gastronomes will try to test the rich Tandoor plateaus, offering for 700 Rs (16 €) a selection of several meat dishes, poultry, fish and seafood, or vegetarian dishes. On the floor, a small lounge where to smoke a shisha after the meal.

You can sit on the terrace facing the sea (on the wrong side of the road, but a nice view all the same) or in the dining room not far from the singer. Some products are sold by weight like crab or lobster, or whole fish to share. There are also a few dishes for carnivores and a nice list of drinks, wines and cocktails.

Protected by a clutter of green plants in pots, it is a trattoria pure juice, with its old sofas like at the mamma's, a TV connected to Italian channels, an everlasting smell of pasta and pizza...
