In France, this would be the local truck stop: popular, established there forever, open 6 days a week, easy to get to by the roadside, simple in terms of decor but generous in the plates, with no nasty surprises. A mile-long menu of European, Chinese and Creole dishes... in other words, everything and nothing, which doesn't really matter when you want to eat fast, well and cheap! Lots of fish and seafood prepared directly from the open kitchen, but also fried mines (Chinese noodles), grilled meats, pasta and even French fries! Fast service.
