Reddish water flowing from a fountain… That's the point. Such a special feature evokes the collective imagination. According to legend, the head of Saint Julien, martyr beheaded, would have been washed in the waters of this source. Classified as a historic monument, this fountain is adorned with two small capitals. No vestige remains of the oratory that had been raised in this place. The Revolution lives the destruction of buildings except the fountain. On the occasion of the 1700 th anniversary of the martyrdom of Saint Julien, the site was completely restored to make it a calm and soothing garden, a true place of meditation. On the road to Clermont-Ferrand you will find the Fountain of Saint Julien, only a few kilometers north-west of Brioude.
