The busiest of Singapore's , this large metal structure stands in stark contrast to the CBD buildings.
At lunchtime, you'll meet the city's bankers, Indian workers, local white-collar workers and tourists. You can lunch or dine under the wrought-iron canopy imported from Glasgow in 1894. In a district where restaurants close early in the evening, this hawker court is a godsend. In the midst of the city's tall modern buildings, the white wrought-iron structure stands out. This place, which was Singapore's first market opened in 1825, is now one of the city-state's most famous hawkers . Kebabs are now served here at all hours.
