Philippe Hoyez and Gabriel de Balasy, former cabaret artists and restaurant owners in the 14th arrondissement of Paris, set up their first business in Singapore in 1998 on Club Street in Chinatown. Back then, the street wasn't nearly as popular as it is today, and the pair were right on the money: L'Angélus is still a Singaporean benchmark for unpretentious French cuisine. Andouillette, cassoulet, boeuf bourguignon, tartare, crêpe Suzette, cassoulet... A varied and popular menu.
