Meure Island Resort and Spa is one of the largest hotels in the Maldives, with 284 accommodations divided into 5 different categories. Opened in 1977 to tourism, the island was designed and developed to please the greatest number of people, with multiple activities. If you have a very limited budget but are looking for a resort development, the 50 m² Garden Rooms were renovated in 2014. They are grouped in a U-shaped building in a more palm tree than beach atmosphere. They are ideal for families with very young children (no risk of falling into the water) and diving enthusiasts who plan to spend more time in the water than in their room. The Beach Villas are much prettier and a little larger with their 56 m² carpet under the trees and along the beach, allowing you to enjoy the view of the lagoon from the terrace. The semi-open bathrooms are installed on the garden side. They have a very large walk-in shower, convenient for washing children of all ages. The Jacuzzi Beach Villas, identical in design and layout, are larger (80 m²) and have a whirlpool bath as a bonus, as their name suggests. The most of Meeru is undoubtedly the large number of Water Villas. Some are set on the ocean shore, and others, more traditional, are mounted on stilts directly on the lagoon. The warm wooden chalets all have their semi-open bathrooms, a Jacuzzi, a terrace overlooking the big blue and a staircase allowing you to bathe directly. They also have a large dressing room and are ideal for a long romantic stay away from the hustle and bustle of the world. The resort has two buffet restaurants, Farivalhu and Maalan, as well as two à la carte restaurants, Hot Rock and Asian Wok, the perfect chic formula for enjoying the sunset. There are also many bars scattered all over the island, allowing you to enjoy refreshments during the day and to entertain the evenings. Concerts and special evenings are scheduled.
We especially appreciate the sense of community that prevails there. Indeed, unlike most resorts that hide the staff quarters, here everything is open with a very pleasant village aspect.
