Shangri La's Villingili Resort & Spa was born in 2010. It is a very high-end 5-star hotel. With 143 rooms of 9 different types, the accommodation offer leaves plenty of choice and there is something for all kinds of travel. The villas, ultra private retreats of great beauty, are enthroned in the tropical gardens, or on the golden beach, or on the translucent waters, and even... in the trees! The smallest are 133 m², while the largest, the only Villa Laalu, is 952 m²! The extremely refined décor takes you on a journey through timeless Asia. Typical furniture from India and the Middle East, fabrics in warm colours... traditional elements match without fail with design touches. The villas that are not on the water offer, among the coconut trees, breathtaking views of the ocean, from a terrace, an open bathroom or an ideal patio for dinners under the stars. Of course, the views are even more stunning in the villas on stilts, from where you can contemplate the sapphire lagoon from a terrace bench-bed, a hammock suspended above the water or a sumptuous oval bathtub. And because hotels in the Maldives are always competing with each other in madness, Shangra La's is innovating with its villas raised 3 m above the ground by thick pilings, Ocean Villas and Tree House Villas. These splendid high-level hiding places (it is the case of saying so!) offer a hallucinating spectacle, and at the same time, the delightful sensation of no longer touching the ground (literally as figuratively), of hovering between sky and sea. Close your eyes and imagine yourself on a huge terrace with a plunging view of a horizon in shades of blue. Intense! Enough to intoxicate the most jaded luxury travellers. A butler is assigned to the service of each villa.
Guests enjoy their meals in three gourmet restaurants: Indian, Chinese and Arabic grouped under the name of Dr Ali's, Fashala and Javvu, where breakfast is also served in the form of a magnificent and eclectic buffet. You can also cool off in three different bars and lounges, Endheri, Manzaru and the famous M Lounge. When the occupancy rate is high enough, buffets are held for dinner in Javvu, usually on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday. Meals can be organized anywhere on the island: on the beach, at the golf course, in the vegetable garden or in your villa. A luxury yacht offers the possibility to board for dinner cruises on the equator.
