The road along the north coast ends at Blanchisseuse, the last series of coves accessible by car. To reach Matelot and Grande Rivière, you'll have to pass through Arima and make a long detour up the east coast by road, taking around 5 hours. Alternatively, you can hike for 2 days via Paria, or take a boat from Blanchisseuse and reach Matelot by sea? There's no doubt that this enclave characteristic has protected and preserved the very wild dimension of this coastal part of the island. Here, we are truly at the end of the world, in the heart of the wild Caribbean.
