Also called Gaigirgordup, it is the administrative capital of Guna Yala. It is home to the General House of the Guna Congress (Onmaged Nega), the heart of the political life of each of the 49 communities. It is in these large communal houses made of wood, bamboo and palm that all decisions relating to the culture, religion and heritage of the Tule people are made democratically. Daily sessions, orchestrated by the most influential authority, the "Sahila", and including speeches, incantations, prayers and songs, sometimes last all night. It is possible to swim in the three beautiful beaches of the island. Like its neighbors Wichubwala, Nalunega and Uguptupu, Porvenir is close to many deserted paradise islands where it is good to spend the day, picnic and observe the fish or coral. On the program of excursions proposed by the hotels: Gagandup (Isla Hierba), Gorgidup (Isla Pelicano), Wichudup (Isla Icaco), Igodup (Isla Aguja)..
