Rosh Pina, whose name means "cornerstone", is a modern city of 2,500 inhabitants, which extends along Highway 90 to the Hula Valley. Its visit is only worthwhile for its upper part, a small bohemian village with narrow streets lined with stone houses buried under dahlias and bougainvilleas. As early as 1882, Romanian Jews settled there, forming the first real Jewish settlement in Galilee. Today, in addition to artists' studios, the old village houses several shops, a few restaurants and many luxury guest houses, often full of charm, but at fairly high prices.
