LE RÉGAL

French cuisine restaurant €€

The best restaurant in Cape Town! After a culinary apprenticeship in Cape Town, various collaborations with Italian pizza makers and a few internships in France, Adrien serves up excellent cross-cultural cuisine in his restaurant-bar-pizza-caterer-glacier. We recommend the chef's speciality, stuffed crabs, tasty and spicy. Also on the menu are beef stew, monkfish blanquette and captain's fillets. The homemade desserts are just as succulent. At the end of the meal, it's not unusual for Adrien to come and greet his customers, for personalized service!

LA PAILLOTE

An idyllic setting, succulent dishes, all in a subdued atmosphere facing the ocean. The restaurant de la Paillote is one of the best in the area! You will be personally welcomed by Christian, the owner, a Frenchman from Ziguinchor who takes great care of his customers. The menu offers a variety of dishes, from grilled meats to fish and pasta dishes, each one as excellent as the next. There is also a copious menu where lobster is king. Perfect for a romantic meal!

LA CARPE ROUGE

If you have ever witnessed the return from fishing in Yoff, M'Bour, Saint-Louis or any other large port, you have probably seen its enormous goldfish or yellow fish, carried on their backs so imposing are they. They are endemic carps, of which this restaurant has made its speciality. René Gabriel Sadio prepares here the red carp in the oven (on order), a delight! You will also be able to taste excellent crabs stuffed Casamance-style, a tasty fish braised in the chef's way or roast chicken for those who prefer meat. Good value for money.

LA PETITE SUISSE

World cuisine restaurant

Set on the beautiful Cap Skirring beach, this sandy-feet restaurant offers a pleasant lunch break. Mamie, an outstanding cook from Carabane, concocts hearty fish, shrimp and meat dishes. You can also enjoy lobster, camerones or grilled crab if you order the day before. A few deckchairs and umbrellas are set up in front of the restaurant to tempt you to a siesta. Dinner is sometimes accompanied by an impromptu djembé party. For a memorable moment!

AUBERGE LE PALMIER

World cuisine restaurant

This large straw hut in the centre of the village is pleasant for dinner in the evening, and offers honest classic dishes (grilled fish, monkfish kebabs...), as well as European dishes of no interest. We like to go there in the evenings, to do some dance steps for dessert and meet the local people. Behind the restaurant, there are about ten rooms, some of which are air-conditioned, with basic comfort, in a setting without any particular charm. However, they can be an address of passage for small budgets.

LE PÉLICAN - CHEZ PACO

World cuisine restaurant

Paco's is a convivial place where you can enjoy good fish and seafood. Set on the fishermen's beach, his gargote has been there since 2007, despite the storm that damaged it in 2020. Paco always welcomes you with a smile, ready to barbecue crabs, sole, sea bream, red carp or even lobster. The menu changes according to the catch of the day, as he buys directly from the fishermen on the beach. Simple, tasty cuisine in the heart of authentic Senegal.

AFRICABANE - CHEZ OMAR

World cuisine restaurant

A good local address with its feet in the sand and a friendly atmosphere. Omar warmly welcomes you to his makeshift gargote, built with his own hands. Seated facing the ocean, you'll feel right at home and, above all, you'll enjoy a hearty meal at low prices. If you fancy a siesta after your meal, you can relax on the deckchairs. And for those who'd like an aperitif, Omar serves the best ty-punch on the beach! There's also djembe music around the campfire and grilled meats on Sunday afternoons.

Le Petit Gourmet lives up to its name! The menu offers a variety of choices, from wood-fired pizzas to more traditional dishes or dishes made with local produce such as yassa, duck à l'orange, zebu filet or captain's steak. CAP D'OR - CHEZ LOULOU

World cuisine restaurant

Former Hibiscus chef Roland took over this restaurant in 2018, set in an inner courtyard it shares with a bar. It didn't take him long to win over tourists and Senegalese alike with his wood-fired pizzas, local dishes and atypical recipes. You'll be able to savor orange chicken and duck confit with Casamance honey. The perfect way to treat yourself at low prices! Roland has opened a new space on the same road, near Moussou Boissons, where he offers the same menu but in a more intimate setting.
