Rufisque is now only a crossing point to Dakar, famous for its monster traffic jams, which, however, with the new bypass of the city and the associated motorway, are tending to diminish. If you get stuck in traffic and are fed up with it, you can always leave the road and stop for a moment to wander around this old counter. You will see the classic colonial architecture of the trading houses, especially along the Ousmane Socé Diop street. The owners had invested there in peanuts before turning their eyes to Dakar, where the port was better developed and the future was at stake
