You have to cross a rather sordid industrial zone to get to La Voile d'Or. But the place is worth it, especially for its white sandy beach, its coconut trees, its view of Gorée Island and its crystal clear water sheltered in a bay. The hotel offers cheap rooms in a postcard setting near the beach, with a very friendly staff. The accommodation is very comfortable (air conditioning, sanitary facilities, TV). The restaurant cooks good fish, and on Sundays a buffet brunch attracts many Dakarois. Possibility of camping.

to stick to a French military base on one side and several busy and fish militaro factories other horrible smell: male prostitute... terrible even if the beach pretty in front of is UNFORTUNATELY gorée
