Interrupted following the sinking of the Joola, the sea link was resumed in 2005 with the launch of the Wilis, replaced two years later by theAline Sitoé Diatta, which has since provided a twice-weekly link between Dakar and Ziguinchor. Two other boats, the Diambogne and theAguene, alternate between the two destinations. The latter offer seats only. TheAline Sitoé Diatta offers armchairs, 8-, 4- and 2-berth cabins with shower. Restaurant on site. The boat calls at Carabane Island on both outward and return trips.

Moyen de transport lent mais sympathique pour rejoindre la Casamance au départ de Dakar. Cabine de 2 personnes très fonctionnelle et très propre (eau chaude avec bon débit à la douche). Contrairement à ce qui est mentionné dans certains guides, on peut garder ses bagages si on occupe une cabine 2 couchettes. Cuisine à bord très bonne. Jolie surprise le matin en remontant le fleuve accompagné des dauphins.
