With over 2,000 years of age, Mexico City is the capital of one of the most fascinating countries in the world and is part of the cultural heritage of mankind. It is a concert of cultures, traditions and modernity, the crucible of Mexican meltdown - a miracle - a self-centered symbol of Mexico. Before becoming the capital of New Spain and then Mexico, Cuiculco (destroyed by two volcanic eruptions to the Ier and centuries) was an urban and ceremonial center dominated by Teotihuacán, and the Triple Alliance dominated by Tenochtitlán was to become the center of the Azazan empire. tec. It is also a mixed city, born in pain, fruit of the juxtaposition of two distinct cultures: one based on a purely indigenous world design, the other on eurocentrism. The city is an entanglement of pre-Hispanic constructions and colonial constructions. Beneath each ancient church lies the remains of the temples of ancient civilization. The city itself has 9 million inhabitants, but its megacile, which runs up to the states of Hidalgo and Mexico City, brings together more than 21 million inhabitants and makes it the largest Spanish-speaking city in the world. On a global scale, it is between the third and tenth place according to the calculation methods.Mexico has a mixed palette of what you can observe elsewhere in the country. The people of this city are a mixture of ethnicities, living in popular neighborhoods with their very lively markets (Tlahuac, Milpa Alta), and conversely, in very rich neighborhoods (Polanco, Santa Fe). Mexico alone produces 40% of the country's economic wealth. Most foreign companies are represented there. Culturally, the city has an impressive number of museums and theaters.Discovering the riches of the capital helps to better understand the soul of the country. Several museums present the origins of the Mexican people, including the highly recognized Anthropology Museum. A wonder both by the quality of the pieces and by the numerous vestiges attesting to the richness of the various pre-Hispanic civilizations that have developed in Mexico. A mandatory passage to better capture the areas you are going through. The frescoes inherited from the movement of murten painters, Diego Rivera in mind, retrace Mexico's history by addressing its key points and showing the challenges of the country's politics. It is also said that the megacite in Mexico City is the largest in the world, so if you do not take the plane, and you haven't had the opportunity to see it, do not hesitate to climb on the top floor of the Latin American Tower to get an overview. If the sky is not too crowded, you will see the mountain range surrounding the Mexico Valley, including the magnificent Iztaccihuatl and Popocatepetl volcanoes, commonly known as Izta and Popo.Hernán Cortés lives for the first time in the Mexican city of Tenochtitlán, the future Mexico City. This city was then built in the middle of a lake. Splendid, it will be called Athens of America for the refinement of its civilization. To expand their city, Mexicas developed chinampas, gardens on floating rafts. Although, since then, the city has gained ground on the lake which has now almost disappeared, the floating gardens still linger in Xochimilco south of the city.

The intermediate period is due to the school holidays in July and August. The tourist boom period extends from December to March or April, depending on the dates of Holy Week. Many religious and popular festivals take place throughout the year. For the National Independence Day, September 15-16, throughout the country, the scene where Miguel Hidalgo called for an uprising in 1810 is repeated. Well served, Mexico is a generally safe country for solo travelers. The wave of drug cartel violence and social repression generally spares tourists; neither the criminals nor the state want to attract too much publicity. However, tourists can be easy prey, especially in the subway, cab, or on the street after dark. The usual rules of caution apply: do not show your camera, your "banana" or your wallet.

It is very easy to travel by plane in the country, as most cities have an airport. There is also a very good network of long distance buses with cheap fares. However, depending on the route, to save time and avoid long hours in the bus, the plane is often more interesting. Please note: with the emergence of low cost airlines on certain routes, air and bus fares are sometimes identical.
