In the Bertrande valley, Saint-Projet-de-Salers barely reveals its lauze roofs in the middle of the green countryside. At an altitude of 800 metres, beautiful walks await hikers, particularly towards the puy Chavaroche. The church, in Romanesque Auvergne style from the 14th century, is decorated with the traditional comb bell tower, perpendicular to the roof and with several bells. The lordship was shared between the houses Montal and Tournemire. Of the three castles, only a few remains remain on various promontories. With the decline in population, some hamlets have also disappeared. Others have changed their name over time.
