Palace housing the offices of the President of the Republic of Bolivia, designed by the architect Nuñez del Prado and completed in 1853
It is the seat of the executive power and it houses the offices of the president of the Republic of Bolivia. It is known as the Palacio Quemado (burned palace) after an incendiary attack in 1875. The construction work began in 1559 in order to receive the City Hall of La Paz. The building was expanded until President José Ballivián ordered its demolition in 1846. The latter commissioned the architect Jose Nuñez del Prado to build a new one, which was completed in 1853.
