Just before reaching Cabarete, the western end of the bay, Punta Goleta has been renamed Kite Beach, with the clear intention of establishing a zone reserved for kiters, so that they don't invade the windsurfers' beach. As far as Playa Encuentro, the location is ideal thanks to the coral reef 300 m from the beach and constant winds of around 17 to 25 knots blowing at an angle from the sea. This is where the kitesurfing schools and hotels are concentrated. Two bars share the nightlife; for more entertainment, head a few kilometers further on to Cabarete.
