Located in the middle of the central mountain range, the entire region of Constanza enjoys the same soothingly cool climate that contrasts pleasantly with the heat of the plains. This city, the highest in the Dominican Republic, has even beaten the record for coldest temperatures in the Caribbean, with temperatures below zero; a record of minus 8°C was even recorded in 1999 in Valle Nuevo. (You can still see today, on display in some houses, pictures of flowers caught unprepared and frozen by a winter that was much too harsh.) Everything grows easily in this particularly fertile orchard: fruits and vegetables, trees and plants from our countries (apples, pears, peaches, strawberries, raspberries, mushrooms...) and as many varieties of exotic fruits and vegetables that thrive in these tropical latitudes.Geographical center of the island, El Valle Nuevo has a remarkable reserve of alpine flora, unexpected in the tropics, of great scientific value. Constanza is a disconcerting mountain stop in the heart of gently rolling landscapes, drowned in fir forests at the foot of the nearby foothills of the sierra. With a cool climate all year round and the development of ecotourism facilities, the region has become the must of the new wave of chic national tourism. A highly exotic destination that will allow you to fill up with freshness between the idyllic beaches of the Caribbean in the south and those no less seductive in the north of the island.
