About fifteen kilometers from Barahona, this pretty little village with colorful houses is famous for its lagoon, a vast natural reserve particularly rich in game birds. It is the largest freshwater lagoon in the country and a meeting place for hunters, which is very popular during the winter. Cabral also has a strong carnival tradition. Once a year, the cachuas, men dressed as frightening horned devils, roar through the streets from Good Friday to Easter Monday. Finally, there is the great curiosity of the area: the enigmatic magnetic pole located 19 km south of the village.
